Chimney Jim With the second marathon show at the State Fairgrounds (first was 5-13-73) we were beginning to think the Dead really liked Des Moines!

This seemed to be confirmed when at the close Phil said, "It's been great! See you next year!"

Great, Phil! We can hardly wait!

Alas, within a few months they "retired," and they never did come back to the Fairgrounds.
