tripsnpig What a great first show ! and talking to other people later on I am sure it was a first show for many many eventual deadheads. What sticks out most about the show for me was>>ten. jed(with what seemed to me the whole crowd singing along with) the clouds started getting ominous looking so they play LL rain...and the rain does start to fall just at the end of the song. By then I was peaking off of the LSD and shrooms I took which carried me good through the rest of the show. Watching the big screens during drums(what a trip)laying on my back on the field spacing out during space. almost crying during I will take you home...tripping out again on the screens and dancing like a madman during the other one... then coasting home through the rest of the show. and what a great encore to end this show.US Blues> I suppose now only because it ended a 2 night run in the nations capitol. But what a life changing night for me with just turning 18 a few days earlier and this being my first stadium concert. It was a major fluke I was even inside for this show. The charge I got that night stayed inside of my soul until the morning that my friend called and told me Jerry had died. We had just saw 7/9 a month earlier. It is a comfort knowing deep down inside how Jerry dearly loved his fans. He would say that he played all of the time because of his love for music. But I think he did more out of devotion to his rabid fans. JG=a perfect man living in an imperfect world.
