jackspace What an amazing show. I'm approaching 60 Phish shows now and I still count 12/31/95 at MSG as one of my all-time top concert experiences. From where I was at, stage left, it seemed like they were doing some great trickery to make it appear as if the band were shrinking. The 'Gamehenge Time Labs' quip was HILARIOUS, in fact I spent the rest of the show convinced the band was finally going to unzip their human suits and reveal their alien selves. :)

There were a lot of highlights but one that really sticks-out for me was the beautiful Squirming Coil, especially Page's solo towards the end which brought most people to tears it was so damned delicate, light, and beautiful.

When they went into Drowned it felt like an allusion to the Halloween show (Quadrophenia was played for their masquerade set(my 29th birthday)).

You could really sense how proud the band was to be playing MSG on NYE, their families in the audience.

It was simply amazing from end-to-end. If you're looking for the one Phish recording to take to that deserted island, this is the one.

I wonder if much in the way of video of this performance is available? I still need to verify what I saw. :)
