The Broken Angels began as an ever-changing confederation of Grateful Dead-influenced musicians, organized by David Gans, which first came together in "The Dead Experiment," a regularly scheduled series of jams on Tuesday nights at Blake's on Telegraph in Berkeley. The weekly series ran from January through September 1997.
