This shn set is an edit of a previous shn set made by Tim OConnell mtmoc@home.com, who patched in the aud portions and edited out tape squeal. Sound Forge was then used to edit for a new shn set, with pitch corrections for the aud portions, normalization for the entire recording, and retracking for four discs, as well as other minor edits.

Notes:
--the audience portion is somewhat degraded, though pretty listenable
--nearly every track provided by the audience recording has the first few notes clipped due to taper conservation, though all such cuts are minor
--reel glitches @ 3:49, 4:12, & 4:56 in Cumberland
--minor splice @ 12:33 in Truckin'

First 'Half Step'

Matt VernonSHN4 sbd&aud - the sound quality of the aud and the sbd are not up to the usual expectations. Half step debuts here. Set 1 has a good (not great) PITB but otherwise its a "going through the motion" performance. Set 2 jam has Truckin > TOO > He's Gone > TOO > LLR. The He's Gone sandwich wasn't done often in this order, so that's notable. But there are many better version of TOO this year compared to this one. It suffers from a lack of flow to me, you've heard the various twists and turns. The NFA > GDTRFB > Bo Diddley is worth checking out with Betts/Oakley from the ABB. They add numerous Mtn Jam teases throughout and maintain a high energy level. The poorer sound quality and abundance of better performances shows from this year means this one is probably skippable for most.
