I question the source's validity. The person who gave this to me said it
was from a friend who works for the Allman's so who knows. It does sound
damn good. It must be on a 80 min. disc.
Note: There is a tracking issue you should be aware of with this show: Track 5 is Dreams, but it goes into Mountain Jam in that track, then drums in track 6 then more Mountain Jam in track 7. Track 5 should be split. This makes sense cause they always played Mountain Jam > Drums > Mountain Jam, often with a bass solo after the drum solo. PJP@Inhiding.com, June 23, 2001. |

DEEP: The quintessential Dylan concert up to that point in time, as important to 1964 as the Manchester broadcast is to 1965 or Guitars Kissing to 1966. The sound is much smoother, fuller and has more "punch" than previous CDs I've heard of this show. This one is pristine, with Dylan's voice more natural and the guitar/harmonica eliciting a much richer tone. Dylan at his early best - humorous, charming and witty in-between songs and strong, confident and defiant during them. As a bonus, you get the WBAI-FM "Broadside" radio show from '62 in superb quality. The double-jewel packaging is superb, with a classy black and gold color scheme and vintage Bob and Joan photos. Essential listening for everyone.
CDG: A classic performance in excellent quality, in part due to some digital filtering to remove tape hiss.

Declicked and retracked by jeff@shakedown.etree.org
The original tracks were not cut on proper sector boundries,
therefore creating pops or gaps between tracks. I was able
to edit out these pops using Cool Edit Pro. I then retracked
using CD-Wav to assure that the track breaks were cut on
proper sector boundries to avoid pops. Overall, the quality
of this show is great and about as good as it gets for a
Marley recording.

OK. I just blew the dust off this one. The original text file, from the taper, has gone missing.
(If you are reading this, send it to the address below and I'll replace this one)
The lineage, date, and place are correct. This was a benefit for a local politician
and did not take place at Bobby's backyard as is often assumed. The WAV> CDR > WAV > SHN
portion of the lineage is my doing, so if there seem to be conversion problems, mail me.

farthest stand forward DFC (~25ft back from stage lip) ~12 ft up.
There were ~8 or so stands behind me. I was glad my stand was up
so high here because the crowd was super loud...Del seemed
quite surprised several times by our enthusiasm.

Liberated Bootleg "Rotterdam 1978"
Lineage: FM > ?? > CD > EAC (secure mode) > WAV > SHN (Shorten v. 3, seek tables appended)
Known Flaws (on the original CD):
t01: brief distortion, 0:59-1:05
t08: brief garbles/dropouts at 1:36 and 4:27
(Thanks to Andy S. for catching these)
t09: music fades in quickly at the very beginning of the song, cross-faded with crowd noise from the previous track
A version of this concert, likely from the same source, already circulates as CDR and SHN. However, no text file circulates with it, and several people have noted clicks or gaps in circulating CDR versions. This fileset represents an upgrade in that the lineage is known. This is an EAC of the pressed silver bootleg CD, which I own. EAC and shntool logs are attached below.
