Paris, L'Olympia
Shn 1       Paris '70 is one of the more famous Sabbath films, since is one of the only pro-shot films of the band during the early 70?s. Professionally filmed by a Belgian film crew on 16mm film, this show was later broadcast on TV by Yorkshire and Tyne Tees Television. It was shown in 2-30 minute episodes. EDIT on Jan 28 2015 - there is a general consensus in the Black Sabbath world that the so called Paris 1970 film is not from The Olympia Theater 12/20/1970 but still as stated above, filmed by a Belgium crew the date is most likely from 1970-10-03 - the venue being Theatre 140 (POPSHOP)- http://www.black-sabbath.com/tourdates/1971tour/

 10/31/73 CA
Sausalito, The Record Plant
CDR 1      SBD-FM This is the correct date for the show that's often mislabeled 12/73 KSAN radio broadcast - the air date was 12/02/73 but it was recorded on 10/31/73. This was recorded shortly after the Wailers were kicked off the Sly & The Family Stone tour for actually drawing more attention than Sly. They were stranded and the K-SAN station booked them at the Matrix Club as well as giving them this Radio time. Lineup: Bob Marley: Guitar and Vocals Peter Tosh: Rhythm Guitar and Vocal Earl 'Wire' Lindo: Keyboards Aston 'Family Man' Barrett: Bass Carlton Barrett: Drums "Walk The Proud Land" is the same song as "Rude Boy", with slightly different text written by Bunny Wailer, but here Bob is singing his lyrics version, so it's called "Rude Boy". After "Rastaman Chant" there's the instrumental jam of "Keep The Faith".

CDR 2      ? - Sounds like a FM SBD feed The I-three's opening with 4 songs. Biggest attendance of any Bob show with about 120,000 people there. Updated June 2004: For years this show has been confused with the 6-13-80 Rockplast show in Dortmund, Germany. The setlists in the DB were identical. The corrected setlist above and the track timings are listed in the Frank Jones database: http://www.bobmarley.freeserve.co.uk/80.htm

CDR 1       this is the complete concert that RCA released in 74 of Elvis'"homecoming". RCA's release was substantially edited, and used a completely different mix. RCA's mix was also very muddy, which this isn't. basically, this is the analog sbd from which RCA pulled the album, but it sounds like it did before they messed it up. which is 100 x better.  CDR 1       Frequently listed as Jimi's apartment, various dates in 1968. All previous entries have been merged into this one. This cd was an official CD that was only available if you purchased the book "Voodoo Child: The Illustrated Legend Of Jimi Hendrix". The book clearly states that these recordings were recorded in NYC around April of 1968; another session book pegs this date as April 12th. The book was published by Penguin Books in the USA, England, Canada and New Zealand and was first published in 1995 but I think it's no longer in print. The book is more like a hard-bound comic book and If anyone wants to try tracking it down, the ISBN# is 0-670-86789-6.

FLAC 1      AUD Raritan River Fest This might be their last public appearance to date ( they played a private party in NYC the following night). A really great audience recording- crisp and clear, everything is right there. This was booked as a Terry/Joey/Johnny/Tommy gig, but the day before, the Q's management called the promoter ( Samfool) and asked it it would "be ok" if they brought Frankie Gadler and the Sun Ra Horns, too. OF COURSE it was OK!!!!!!!! It's just great to hear Frankie sing on Do You Feel It, I Do Love You, C'mon Everybody, etc..., BUT the real highlight is "You Got Me Goin". My hunch is that this might be the only time this song was ever performed live! Terry Adams Joey Spampinato Johnny Spampinato Tommy Ardolino Frankie Gadler- vocals ( original singer for NRBQ, sitting in for this night) The Sun Ra Horns: Dave Gordon Tyrone Hill

Stewart's face was painted camoflauge. %Trey quotes much of "Stash" in jam *The Kinks cover (Trey sang) **The Police cover (Les sang 1 verse) # Trey was very chatty. He played his "musical costume" and sang lyrics to several Jon Fishman classics including "Love You," "Bike," and "Cracklin' Rosie." Trey then mentioned that "you too can buy the new medley of Jon Fishman covers for only $19.99, via K-Tel Records!" ##Trey then introduced Les as "someone who really sucks" and then introduced Stewart and said "When I was 15 years old, my biggest dream in life was to play in a band with this guy, and I will say that, so this is my 15 year old cream dream, Stewart 'The Guy Who Sold Way More Records Then Me Or Les' Copeland!"

 05/28/79 Germany
Frankfurt, Stadhalle, Offenbach
CDR 2       Comments and Reviews: From Ron's Rush RoIO Guide (A): This recently-unearthed gem has been the subject of a lot of controversy. First of all, it wasn't even widely know that Rush played this date. But there's no doubt that he's greeting Frankfurt during the intro. Next, the setlist itself raises some questions. It's common knowledge that Rush dropped "Something For Nothing" and "Cygnus X-1" for most of the German shows on this tour. Yet, they appear here. When this show was first circulated, it was without these two songs. On recent releases, they have been added to the mix. A splice is clearly audible where the addition occurs, yet it sounds like these songs belong in the mix, as they blend well with the rest of the show. Legend has it that this show was leaked by Skip Gildersleeve himself. Originally, SFN and CX1 were cut so that the show would fit on a 90-minute tape. Later, upon request, Skip sent out the two missing songs. Hence the splice. Decide for yourself whether you believe all of this. Personally, based on the sound alone, I think the songs belong. (If they don't, it raises the question of where they came from. Clearly, they are from a board, but they are definitely NOT from the 2 other know boards from this tour ? 11/20/78 and 12/2/78. So if they aren't from this show, that suggests the existence of yet another soundboard show from this tour. Perhaps time will tell). Soundwise, the show is incredible. It's right up there with the Tucson and Detroit shows, and you all know how good THAT is. The performance is also outstanding, especially since we are treated to an uncut version of "Hemispheres." A definite must-have! The Digital Dan (EX): Taken from a newly obtained source and remastered for the best sound possible for this source. A long hoarded recording that has taken many years to get out into the common trading circles. It had been long rumored that the show existed, but no one would trade it unless you complete an obstacle course to get it. Well the friends of Digital Reproductions came through again and acquired this magnificent source for every Rush fan to savor. This show is the soundboard and not a broadcast performance as there are no DJ interruptions whatsoever. And unlike the Tucson show, we finally have both a full show and an uncut version of Cygnus! Well this sounds better than any currently produced commercial version of the Tucson '78 show save (A Desert Passage) and a bit better than Buenos Nochas! Motor City. The source is extremely low gen, 1st gen for the majority of the show and 2nd gen for the Drum Solo. Everything is crystal clear with very little tape hiss to be heard anywhere in the recording. It is great to hear a fully uncut version of Cygnus X-1 and Hemispheres. The boys sound great on this night, Geddy is hitting the high notes with Neil putting down a firm foundation for Alex's searing solo's. The bass is really pronounced as is the high end, if not a bit bright. If you are a die hard Rush fan, you cannot be without this show. There is of course controversy with the setlist as some believe that it is incorrect. I have about 99% confidence now that the show never had SfN and CX1 even though sources very close to the band said that those songs were played that night. If you prefer the SfN and CX1 not being part of the setlist, simply extract all the audio tracks to your hard drive, delete the two tracks in question and re-burn the cdr. The tracks will line up correctly and sound just like a continuous concert. The artworks for both versions of the show are located in the archives making the decision completely up to the individual. As with all Digital Reproductions recordings, they are available for free-trade or blank media trades only. If someone tries to sell it to you, you are being ripped off as any one of many Rush traders will gladly do it for free. LeeGeddy (EX-): Despite all the controversy over the setlist, this is a great show, period! The venue info has been updated to be Stadthalle in Offenbach, a small town just outside of Frankfurt, I believe. Geddy greets Frankfurt, but it's like calling Auburn Hills, Michigan...Detroit. The only negative point about this show is Geddy's vocals is shifted to the left channel. The origin of this show is quite convoluted and probably cannot be confirmed...nor denied. Enjoy this wonderful Rush. Do NOT pay money for a copy of this show, it is available via free trade. Contact the Webmaster for my email and I will personally see that you get a copy via a trade. As for a Hemispheres SBD show, the (upgraded) Tucson recording sounds better. (Mar 2000) ToBeOrWhat: The sound quality is not official release quality but it is just about as good as the majority of bootlegs get, so, in other words, excellent. There is a bit too much treble and that?s just about it. There is a tiny weenie cut between ?Xanadu? and ?Something for Nothing?. What happens is the absolute second ?Xanadu? ends ?Something for Nothing? immediately begins, there is no pop or anything but it just doesn?t sound normal, probably because their isn?t ANY cheering and I when I say the second, I mean it! The performance is a good one. The great thing about this bootleg is the entire version of ?Hemispheres?! I count three slightly noticeable ?pops? in Cygnus-X-1, no big deal. One very good bootleg. No small detail but this contains my favorite version of ?2112?. It particularly rocks the *!%& out of everyone on this night! Comments posted to Etree 4/10/2005 by skeeter1973 aka Pangea

SHN 3     <a href="/shn/968">Source Detail</a> Seastones collection: 4 disc set includes 3 separate sessions labelled as 11/28/73, plus 6/6/75; misc. filler bits These are 4 CDs of Seastones shows. 1-3 were originally distributed by the Bay Area Traders Group (BATG) as 11.28.73, but are thought by some to actually be 3 different performances. This issue, and others, were discussed extensively on Deadlists. The Tarot outakes were on side 2 of the second tape. The origin of the Dominican College, San Rafael show is not known by me. Some history: I was attracted to this show by the Compendium vol 1 review. I went looking for the tape, but was turned down by an analog trader who suggested I seek out a DAT copy. After some more searching, a kind DATster spun a CD copy for me. Upon examination, it turned out that the quality of the DAT copy was lower than the copy owned by the analog trader. He finally relented and loaned me the tapes, but not until after comparing quality with the Compendium reviewer's tape. It is probably relevant that the DATster got the tape from the DAT branch of the BATG tree. The shows are a bit hissy, but are the best quality of 4 copies checked. The Compendium reviewer gave his copy an "A", but I'd call the selected recordings A-/B+. I digitized the tapes (Denon, P-200, AWE64, CoolEdit96), set track markers (kindly provided by the analog trader), rejoined overlapped sections providing coverage over tape flips etc and burned to CDR (CDRWin, SAF-RW226, TDK blanks).
