Bill BurtonSHN2mr>c>dat>za2>shnone of my all-time favorites. in my opinion, this "Eyes" is one of the best, and features my favorite "Eyes intro" (brief, but beautiful). from "Weather Report" to "Stella Blue" contains some grate moments of Dead-ness, including the only "It's a Sin" jam ever. all in all, a must-have!

Here's what we have...Lineage: S:MR>1 cass>DAT>ZA2>SHN [revised from original info file]

This version sounds nothing like the previously-circulating "sbd>reel>reel>dat" version and represents a MAJOR upgrade.

The music actually comes to us from two different tapes with very similar qualities. However, one tape had about the first 1 minute and 40 seconds missing on Promised Land, so I spliced it in from the other tape. The other tape had some other problems, not to mention a good portion of the between song banter cut out, so needless to say, we used the good tape for that.

Please enjoy this tasty tidbit from Louisville, KY June 18, 1974 courtesy of some anonymous sources, as well as the collective efforts of Darrin Sacks and David Hollister

Ryan Nybergshn2SBD> MR>1 cass> DAT> ZA2> SHNSBD; Audio=3; There are many early sound problems, but halfway through a high energy Black Throated, the sound is excellent from there on. The sound rating would be an A or A+ if not for the beginning. A truly beautiful Loser! Sort of a short, but very well played, jazzy version of Eyes, followed by a gorgeous China Doll. Bob does some serious screaming throughout Around & Around. WOW, I bet that hurt. Nice work by Keith during El Paso. Amazing, nearly record-perfect vocals on Weather Report Suite, with some excellent soloing by Jerry during Let It Grow. The jam into The Other One gets a bit choppy. The Other One is rather short, before they plunge head first into deep space. From there, they head off into a blues space jam, before rolling into an instrumental version of Its A Sin, afterwhich is a very nice Stella. After all this, Phil says Thank You, to which I say NO, THANK YOU! The rest of the show is very good, with some furious playing by Phil during Sunshine Daydream. The encore of Morning Dew is one of the best versions ever, which says a lot. Overall, an extremely well played, intense, & inspired performance. Incredible show! Definitely one of my favorites from 74.
