Soundcard (line in) > Soundforge 6.0 > wav Edit: wav > Soundforge 6 Damien came out solo unplugged and without a mic for the first 3/4 of "The Professor" to start the gig. This is very evident in the recording but I tried to compensate for it a little bit. Also, volume levels were the most extreme (both quiet and loud) I have ever dealt with so I had to do a lot of adjusting in Soundforge. If the volume seems a bit off at times (mostly during crowd noise), sorry about that. Lastly, the PA had minor issues so brief amounts of static (briefly in "Volcano") are a result of that. To find out more about Damien Rice please visit www.damienrice.com and pick up a copy of the new album "O" in stores now :) Never pay for or sell live recordings.

Earlier in the day, Dave Matthews played an acoustic gig at a record store in Birmingham called the Magic Platter.Only a handful of people were there and a taper or two. My copy of the gig is on analog, but I dumped it to my hard drive, burned wave files of it and transferred it to shn. with a little help from a friend. I wish I had the mic info, but I don't. Sorry.

SVCD 4/5* Source: ProShot (that's all unfortunately) Format: SVCD *I have not archived the MPEGs but my guess is that they will take 5 discs if they are not split evenly. Notes from .txt file: This set of SVCD MPEGs (labeled "dmb2000-07-12d1t01-sync.mpg) has been edited to improve the sync. A number of the tracks were slighly adjusted using Womble Multimedia tool. This process only included DeMultiplexing, and then remultiplexing - NOT reencoding. Tracks d3t2 thru d4t2 were all resynced to the SBD SHNs. On the original set of MPGs there was substantial noise in the left channel. The new audio corrects that issue, and was resynced with the video.

SHN 3/4 Source Detail Master Sounbdoard Reel > PCM > DAT > CDR CD Mastering by Scott Clugston EAC'ed / SHN'ed by Scott Clugston *see notes. This is a monster of a show, with a complex lineage (lots of sources...i'll just paste the information in). Overall the quality is great, although there is crackling in set one. Check out the other sources, I believe that there is one without the crackling defects. Master Sounbdoard Reel > PCM > DAT > CDR (Note from Jack Warner: the SBD portion following the AUD patch in TOO is probably MSR>C>D>CD) Master Audience Reel > DAT source supplies patch in "The Other One" (d4t04) from 22:20 thru 29:27. Master Audience Reel > ?? > DAT source supplies the final 0:33 of Casey Jones (d4t07), as well as the "Johnny B. Goode " encore (d2t08) - which is placed at the end of the 1st set. Notes: Throughout the 1st Set there is an intermittent static, mostly on the left channel, which is believed to be present on the master reels. D1t01 (Bertha): beginning cut; sound system problems for first couple of minutes D1t07 (Race Is On): beginning cut D2t04 (Rider): splice/cut @ 1:58 D4t06 (Wharf Rat): splice or subsecond discontinuity @ 2:38

SHN 2/3 Source Detail "SBD" "sbd" This topic generates large amounts of message traffic on Deadlists. Briefly, the "Wall of Sound" was a fundamentally different type of sound system where each musician adjusted the levels of their own instruments. Owsley Stanley (Bear) claims that there can be no soundboard recordings because there wasn't a soundboard. During these "retirement" concerts there were apparently many recordings made, some of which were released as "Steal Your Face". There is a rumor that this recording is a copy of a rough mix cassette made for SYF provided to the taping community by Jerry Wexler's son or nephew (or something like that), along with 10.18.74 and 10.20.74.

Listener Gary Hodges compared this version to his previous analog copy, particularly Bertha, noting, "What happened to the BOMBS!?! The notes are still there, but there is no intensity." Other unnamed correspondents with Gary also expressed "disappointment" with this mastering of Bertha

MP3 & WAV 1/1 SBD > RCA > Analogue Transfer > Winamp wav writer... Short but great show, almost all rarities, first ever Into the Blind, lots of songs changed up and jammed out. I have the show minus ? and part of Don't Believe in Love in SBD in MP3 format. I also have the same source as one large wav file which I will convert and release to SHN once I get the first two songs sourced from a video camera that night.

This results in a shifty sound, but it's better than the mic bumps or the constant loud talking/screaming throughout the SS source. There's also a channel shift at the beginning of 'Act of Love' that's on the CMII source and was not patched with the SS source due to equipment problems during the same section. Part of Corduroy was patched with the SS (2nd row) because someone talked to the CMII taper.

Pearl Jam Movie
Unknown, Various
VCD This is a rare video compelation of the band on tour in 1995. Great footage. My guess is that this was made by the band and then leaked. It is kind of like touring band 95! It burns to VCD but for some reason disc one will not work on my dvd player - I've tried twice! I have the original MPEG's that were spread via bit torrent.

There?s no resonant frequency under the roof that the bass is going to get muddled up in. So one of them I picked that was like that was the Portland ?98 gig... my gut feeling went toward the Portland show."

D3t05 Drop out @ 12:51 removed. D4t02 & D4t04 had digi pops which were copy and pasted with the oposite channel. I then used CD WAV to select the tracks. Shntool to confirm the Sector Boundaries. The Matrix

SHN 2/4 Title: Complete Matrix Club Tapes CDs: 4 Source: sb>>?>>CDR>>?liberation?>>SHN After The Doors had returned from their two day concert at Chet Helm's Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, they were booked in to play at the Matrix Club, situated at 3138 Fillmore Street, San Francisco. The Doors played there from Tuesday, March 7 until Saturday, March 11 performing three sets a night with fifteen minute breaks in between each set. The Doors were scheduled to play at the Matrix Club from "9.30 p.m - 2a.m." with "Minors welcome", as advertised in the San Francisco Chronicle. The owner of this club, Marty Balin, vocalist of Jefferson Airplane, had installed a reel to reel tape recorder to tape his own group, but The Doors took up the opportunity and decided to record their own performances as well. All of the three sets that were played on Tuesday night were recorded. Unfortunately on Friday night, after The Doors had completed their second set and returned to play the third set, the sound engineer had apparently forgotten to turn on the tape recorder and only got to record the last portion of "The End". These recordings at present are the most complete recordings available in their entirety with no over dubbing or shoddy recordings, just in the same way The Doors had played them during their one week performance in March. By far, these shows are one of the best live recordings that The Doors have ever recorded.

Wetlands Preserve
New York, NY
SHN 1/1 Compiled by Ibenezcollector. No Source given but this is more than likely a board > DAT show. See the notes section for what someone had to say about it (taken from sharingthegroove.com's original bit torrent seed) "I don't know the source info; but it sounds like it is either a soundboard or an excellent back-of-the-house [by soundboard] AUD. The wetlands had awesome sound if you were FOB... and they had an excellent little taping nook next to the boards.... if the mics were set up on a stand next to the board, it is hard to tell the difference between an SBD and AUD [the SBD almost always has a bit of crowd noise off of it becaus the crowd was basically one foot in front of the artist....]" Funky show! The MC cracks me up..."You Ain't got no groove if you aint got no pocket"! :)
