??/??/68 Acoustic Masterpieces - The Esher Demos Esher UK 1 A This recording was done at George Harrison's house in late may of 68. It's John, George and Paul. This recording is of some the tracks they had written in India. From the sound of this recording they must have been having a very good time.. Perhaps some very good Hashish??? Whatever, it never impaired their playing at all. This is my favorite of all Beatles recordings. It can't be called an outtake recording, just John, Paul, and George sitting around and jamming together. As the insert says, this is about as close to an Beatles "unplugged" as you'll ever find. EXCELLENT HOME DEMOS (2 GENS AWAY FROM MASTER) RECORDED AT GEORGE'S PLACE! 1968
01/01/73 The Beatles Story BBC Radio Special London England 9 A From the Marconi Experiment Archives This is an UNEDITED STEREO BBC RADIO special that was produced in 1973 by the BBC in London. This radio special has now been carefully transferred to STEREO CD's from an original set of "VIRGIN" 2trk MASTER reel-to-reel tapes. These 2trk reels are BRAND NEW old stock reels that were NEVER PLAYED ON THE AIR by any radio station. The entire special is narrated by the BBC's own BRIAN MATTHEWS.

05/24/73 Paris Theatre London England 1 A
10/31/73 The Record Plant Sausalito CA 1 A This is the correct date for the show that's often mislabeled 12/73 KSAN radio broadcast - the air date was 12/02/73 but it was recorded on 10/31/73. This was recorded shortly after the Wailers were kicked off the Sly & The Family Stone tour for actually drawing more attention than Sly. They were stranded and the K-SAN station booked them at the Matrix Club as well as giving them this Radio time. Lineup: Bob Marley: Guitar and Vocals Peter Tosh: Rhythm Guitar and Vocal Earl 'Wire' Lindo: Keyboards Aston 'Family Man' Barrett: Bass Carlton Barrett: Drums "Walk The Proud Land" is the same song as "Rude Boy", with slightly different text written by Bunny Wailer, but here Bob is singing his lyrics version, so it's called "Rude Boy". After "Rastaman Chant" there's the instrumental jam of "Keep The Faith".

04/22/78 OLPC National Heroes Stadium Kingston Jamaica 1 A+ This was Bob's first show back in Jamaica after the attempt on his life in December 1976. The original Wailers reunited for the show. During the song "Jammin'", Bob called up the Prime Minister, Michael Manley, and the opposition party leader, Edward Seaga, to join hands and show their faith in the peace. After a few moments of waiting, they joined hands with Bob and sang "One Love". Lineup: Dennis Brown, Ras Michael & the Sons of Negus, Big Youth, Peter Tosh, Leroy Smart and Ron Wood
05/25/78 Orpheum Theater Madison WI 1 Set 1 is the early show, set 2 is the late show. The early show is most likely complete, the late show misses the last songs. During the early show Bob breaks a guitar string at the beginning of Concrete Jungle and must leave stage. When he returns he sings "I'm late yeaaaah."
07/07/78 Ahoy Hall Rotterdam Netherlands 2 A+
07/21/79 Harvard Stadium Boston MA 2 A+ "Amandla Festival" This was one of Bob's most unique shows because it was before the beginning of the Survival 1979 tour but it was after the recording of Survival. So this is really one of the first shows of the tour. Bob was asked to do this concert while in Jamaica recording the album Survival. Other artists present at the concert were comedian Dick Gregory who paid Bob respect by kissing his hands at the show. They made Bob perform during the afternoon because the promoters feared a powerful performance from Bob could spark a riot. He did give one of his most powerful performances with improvisation on many tracks from both Bob and the band. The most amazing part of this show is the encore in which Bob played 2 new songs at that time. During this long version of Zimbabwe and Wake Up & Live he gives one of his only speeches.

01/??/89 Mother's Night Tape Unknown Unknown 1 B+ * This is a Dave solo basement recording from around 1/1989. This recording supposedly originated from a tape Tim Reynolds recorded. This is the only known recording of the song, and is also the only known performance of it too.

??/??/91 DMB 1991-1993 Studio Demo (without Boyd) Unknown Unknown 1 A- *This CD was originally labeled 1993 studio demo, but after re-listening to it and listening for Peter I noticed that Boyd was missing during the demo as well. I honestly don't know how I missed that before. This leads me to believe that the CD was recorded in 1991, before they found a need for a violin. Granny is the song that debuted last live, debuting in fall of 1992. If anybody has more insight to the date, I'd be happy to hear them. **This is the "Kind Intentions Jam" played at a soundcheck in February of 1994. That copy of the song is about ten minutes long, and has very few lyrics. This version is definatly more evolved. The song came labeled as MacHead, but nobody knows if that is the song for sure. ***Something goes wrong a few seconds in, and they start it over again. Any questions, complaints, compliments, ideas, anything at all, email me at Itzhobbs@home.com or on AOL at Machead41. compiled by Jeff Pilcicki 02/05/00 Additional info: 1991-93 w/o Boyd is from Jan, 1993. Boyd's absence is not indicative of the date. All fte song lyrics point to around this time, maybe as late as early Feb, 93 -the above information was taken from the former source info site dmbsourceinfo.com

Mascis guitar, vocals Lou Barlow bass, vocals Murph (Emmett Murphy) drums Notes: Earlier in the evening, after soundcheck and while the first opening act was on stage, Lou Barlow gave a 90 minute-plus solo set at Indy CD & Vinyl, Indianapolis, IN just down the block in Broad Ripple. It was very obvious which third was not sick, as the band pulled out a few extra chestnuts with Lou on vocals so J. Mascis would not have to sing so much.

08/05/70 Golden Hall Community Concourse San Diego CA 2 A- Source Detail Both sets acoustic It's doubtful the music on these tapes is from Golden Hall in San Diego. ??/??/70 "Out In The Sun" - Studio & Private Jon's Attic - STG 039 Compilation 1 A A small collection of Jimi mainly playing acoustic. This ranges from studio demos to material from jam sessions. The first four tracks are not as widely circulated as the other more well known acoustic Electric Ladyland sessions. Tracks 5 and 6 are from a tape containing various tryouts of numbers and a jam session with Paul Caruso. They have never been circulated before and 'Our Lovely Home' is a new and unheard number. Luckily it can be identified from the lyrics Jimi wrote. Tracks 7 and 8 come from a circulating tape called 'All the ugliness in the world' but they are the only musical fragments on it. The final track is a long acoustic jam with Mitch Mitchell thought to originate from February, just before the start of the US tour in April 1970.

03/07/87 17 Nussbaum Road (House Party) Raymond WA 1 Nirvana Bootography Guide: "The performance that is listed as March 7th, 1987 is mentioned in the Charles Cross Kurt Cobain biography "Heavier Then Heaven". Mr. Cross does a good job describing the events before, during, and after the show and transcribes some of the banter that can be heard as the band runs through nine of Nirvana's earliest songs. The show takes place at a house party in Raymond Washington. Throughout the performance you can hear partygoers and the band chat back and forth. The band receives little to no applause. They are surprisingly tight (Aaron Burkhardt is on drums) and it's easy to tell the band had spent some time rehearsing. As Mr. Cross notes in the book, it's simply amazing that a tape like this exists. The sound is as good or better than anyone could expect. Interestingly, Kris Sproul of the Nirvana Live Guide was able to confirm that this CD was taken from the remaster he circulated - he made an edit after the soundcheck that is present in the commercial title. You won't find a document like this for many bands, this is something very special. "

12/01/84 Nectar's Burlington VT 1 A Source Detail [1] First known Phish performance. [2] First known performance. [3] First known Phish performance; missing final lyrics. [4] Marc Daubert. [5] First known Phish performance; Dude of Life on vocals. [6] First known performance; Dude of Life on vocals. Skippy and Fluffhead featured The Dude of Life on vocals. The jam after Camel Walk may have been Back Porch Boogie Blues. Spanish Flea included an introduction of the band members. Don’t Want You No More was not performed in its entirety, as it lacked the final lyrics. The lengthy percussion jam featured a guest appearance from Marc Daubert. Mike recalls that there were approximately 200 people in the audience. This gig featured the first known version of Slave to the Traffic Light and Fluffhead, the first known Phish versions of Fire, Don't Want You No More, Cities, and Skippy the Wondermouse, and the only known Phish version of Spanish Flea. This performance was on the upstairs level of Nectar's.
05/03/85 Last Day Party at UVM-Redstone Burlington VT 2 [1] First known Phish performance; Bobby Brown on harmonica. [2] Jeff on vocals. [3] Reggae jam. [4] First known Phish performance. This show was performed at the Last Day Party on UVM’s Redstone campus. It marked Page’s debut with the band, as he sat in during portions of the third set. In fact, Big Leg Emma was preceded by an announcement from Trey that “our friend Page, from Goddard, will sit in later.” Bring it On Home featured Bobby Brown on harmonica and Whipping Post featured Jeff on vocals. McGrupp was dedicated to Fish. Makisupa featured a reggae jam. This show featured the only known Phish performances of Bring It On Home and The Other One.
02/03/86 Hunt's Bar Burlington VT 1 B+ Source Detail [1] First known version. [2] "It's alright" quotes from Trey. [3] Jeff Holdsworth on slide guitar. [4] First known Phish performance. With Zenzilé Madikinea. This show was an African National Congress Benefit featuring Phish and South African dub poet Zenzilé Madikinea. Antelope featured Jeff Holdsworth on slide guitar. Russ Flanagan sat in on fiddle for parts of this show. Alumni was played by request. Letter to Jimmy Page contained quotes from Trey of "It's alright" before eventually returning to Alumni. Some recordings erroneously note that this show was a double-bill with The Joneses. This show contained the first known version of You Enjoy Myself, although it is possible that the correct debut was on 2/1/85, and the first known performances of Zenzilé's pieces (all with Phish) Tonight, The Pendulum, Babylon is Burning, and Dec 1661. The first set of this show is identical to what is listed for 2/1/85. The setlist for 2/1/85 is possibly incorrect. This show was an African National Congress Benefit featuring Phish and South African dub poet Zenzile. Admission was $4. For set II, Phish accmopanied Zenzile for his African rhythmic chants and rap. It’s worth noting that this show corresponds to the setlist of 2/1/85 Doolin’s and may indeed be the correct date of that show (meaning there was no 2/1/85 Doolin’s show or at least that this set I setlist was mis-attributed to that gig). If that is true, then this is the 1st known public performance of You Enjoy Myself. This show also marked the 1st known performances of Zenzile’s pieces – all performed with Phish – Tonight, The Pendulum, Babylon Is Burning and Dec 1661. Russ Flanagan sat in on fiddle for parts of this show.
10/15/86 Hunt's Burlington VT 3 Source Detail [1] First known Phish performance. [2] First known performance. Before YEM, Page played cocktail-style jazz, including snippets of Misty and Brother Can You Spare a Dime? while Trey tuned up. Trey teased The Gumbo Variations in Mike's Song. The third set listing is incomplete; recordings that circulate have cuts before Cantaloupe. The Clod encore began with an impromptu kazoo solo from Mike. This show contained the first known versions of many Phish songs, including Lushington, Shaggy Dog, Roll Like a Cantaloupe, Sanity, and Clod, as well as the first known Phish versions of Skin It Back, Peaches, Swing Low, and Mustang Sally. This was Paul Languedoc’s first show as soundman.
02/21/87 Slade Hall, University of Vermont Burlington VT 2 A- Source Detail [1] First known Phish performance. While this show may have taken place six nights later, this date is believed to be correct. This setlist is incomplete. The show contained the first known Phish performances of Why Don't You Love Me?, Blue Monk, Boogie On Reggae Woman, Ya Mar, and Corinna. In the intro to Blue Monk, Trey said “Ladies and gentlemen, three quarters of the Bob Dylan Band.” Blue Monk subsequently contained an 'A' Train tease from Page.
03/06/87 Goddard College Plainfield VT 1 A- Source Detail [1] First known Phish performance; Ninja Mike on vocals and played with full instrumentation, as opposed to the usual a cappella arrangement. [2] To "Sue and Debra." Long, reggae-influenced version. [3] First known Phish performance; unidentified female lead vocalist. [4] First known Phish performance; Jim Pollock on vocals. Free Bird was an actual attempt at the song and not an a cappella version, but was performed quite mockingly and not in its entirety. It did, however, feature Ninja Mike on vocals. Happy Birthday was sung to “Sue and Debra” and was a long, reggae-influenced version. Tell Me Something Good featured an unidentified female lead vocalist. Jim Pollock offered vocals for the only known performance of Freeworld. This show featured the first known Phish performances of Free Bird, Tell Me Something Good, and Freeworld.
03/23/87 Nectar's Burlington VT 2 A- Source Detail [1] First known Phish performance. Based on comments made by the band during the show, it appears that there may have been a third set. However, only the first two sets are known to circulate. This gig featured the first known performances of Ride Captain Ride and Sparks. YEM contained Wot (Captain Sensible) and John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt quotes.
04/24/87 Billings Lounge, University of Vermont Burlington VT 2 Source Detail [1] First known performance. Phish played this show at the conclusion of “Earth Week.” This gig featured the only known performance of Punch Me in the Eye and the first known performance of Who Do? We Do!
03/12/88 Nectar's Burlington VT 1 A- Source Detail [1] First known Phish performance. [2] First known performance. This was John Paluska’s first Phish show and also the first known live Gamehendge, complete with narration between songs from McGrupp through Possum. This show contained the first known Phish version of Jump Monk and the first known versions of Tela and Forbin’s (although on 5/21/88, Trey called Tela a debut). Antelope contained Dixie teases from Trey. The members of Phish were, by accounts, at the Frank Zappa concert up the street at the Burlington Memorial Auditorium before this Nectar’s gig. This setlist is incomplete.

Glass Onion's lyrics were changed to "I told you 'bout Guyute the pig." Piggies was played for the first time since November 14, 1985 (884 shows). HYHU was teased prior to Why Don't We Do It in the Road. Birthday wasn’t sung; Page and Mike noodled a bit while Fish presented a birthday cake to Brad Sands, who accepted it while wearing a Jon Fishman dress. Helter Skelter ended with the band singing "I've got blisters on my fingers" a cappella to the tune of Back In My Hometown. Honey Pie's lyrics were changed to reference "Cactus." Cry Baby Cry ended with Fish on vacuum with Revolution 9 segueing out of the vacuum solo. The background tape playing along with Revolution 9 was Mike’s composition He Ent to the Bog from Phish’s White Tape. The song ended with Fish stark naked and running around while the band blew bubbles and waved. Good Night was taped from the album and closed the second set. The third set began with a Custard Pie tease from Trey and an Overture tease from Page, while Bowie contained a Gilligan's Island theme tease from Mike and Antelope's intro contained a Stash tease from Trey. The Costume Contest contained a "Charge!" tease from Page. This show was officially released as Live Phish 13. The soundcheck's Jam was released as an iTunes bonus track called "Glen Falls Soundcheck Jam" and contained a Frankenstein tease from Mike and a May The Force Be With You (The Force Theme from Star Wars) tease from Trey. The Poor Heart and Dog Log in the soundcheck were slow versions.

??/??/02 A Tree Full Of Secrets Various Various 18 On 18 CDs (yes, eighteen!) you'll find all the A and B sides of all the Pink Floyd singles, all the promo, edited, obscured, or remixed versions, and all the soundtracks bits of your favorite Pink Floyd and solo tracks. Basically, this collection includes (nearly) all songs officially released, but not on regular album (compilations, singles, promos, soundtracks...), as well as rare versions from acetates and studio outtakes. We didn't consider live tracks (concerts, radio or TV appearances), unless they're part of a single or a promo single. http://www.winntia.com/html/boxes/pf-atfos.htm

??/??/90 On A Friday: Shindig Demos Unknown Unknown 1 Radiohead / On A Friday / Shindig Demos, summer 1990 Date: June / July / August 1990 + - Recorded at Clifton Hampden Village Hall, drums - Nigel Powell ^ - Recorded in one or more bedrooms * - Recorded at Nuneham Courtenay Village Hall, drums - Phil Selway Notes and opinions: This tape is a collection of demos made over the summer of 1990. All the members were by this point at different Universities around the country, but reconvened over the summer, with the exception of Phil who was in Ireland, although at this time the band did not have a settled name, having dropped On A Friday, but not come up with anything better. The band's working title was 'Shindig', which survived long enough for Thom to spray paint it on his acoustic guitar case, but by the time of their next 'proper' demo, they had reverted to On A Friday. In order to keep recording and rehearsing a school friend who had recorded some previous demos for the band was drafted in to keep the drum stool warm. The Clifton Hampden tracks were recorded over a number of weeks with this line up, while Jonny took the four track home with him in between where him, Thom and Colin worked on tracks. When Phil returned the band recorded another demo track in rehearsal, 'What's That You See?', significant because it was the first time Jonny moved from keyboards to guitar. The song was the only one from this period that remained in the set up until just prior to the deal with Parlophone. 04 - This track was demoed again later this year at Dungeon Studios in Oxfordshire, this version is the original rehearsal take. 05, 08, 12 - Significant tracks as the first time under the band banner they had worked with technology, in this case drum loops from Public Enemy and Soul To Soul. Since the band did not own a sampler, the loops were generated by Thom repeatedly recording from his walkman onto a track of the Portastudio, hence the loop stuttering ocassionally in Everyone Needs Someone To Hate. In Rattlesnake he adjusted the eq on his walkman as the loops were recorded, which gives the drum track it's texture. 07 - Recorded by Thom solo, this song had it's chorus replaced and was revived as Maquiladora for The Bends sessions. 08 - This track was demoed again later this year at Dungeon Studios in Oxfordshire, this version is the original version with the Soul To Soul drums. Still a potential hit too IMHO. 09 - Re-recorded during The Bends sessions pretty much verbatim, with drums added. This version is scrappy, but has the added attraction of cars passing the village hall in the rain. 11 - Also survived in the live set for some time. 13 - A full band version of this was demoed later, but this is the acoustic take. The Bush of the title refers to George Snr. 14 - Apparently Thom arrived at Jonny's house excited one day that he'd written his most viscous set of lyrics. Jonny and Colin suggested doing it as a ska number. Which they did. They also sped it up. 15 - Since he didn't own a sequencer at that time, Jonny triggered his Roland U20 to play the bass line of this song from a painstakingly programmed drum machine. This song is significant one of only two vocal contributions ever made by Colin. He ranted like Captain Beefheart for the verses while Thom sang the choruses.

In Anyone Can Play Guitar Thom sings "grow my hair I was Jim Morrison grow my hair oh wasn't that a silly photo yes it was" Thom seems to avoid playing Creep but promises to play it, it is played as the 2nd encore. At the end of Creep Thom stops singing as the crowd sings the final lyrics.
